I'm a writer, translator, editor, and educator, with particular interests in modern Yiddish poetry, and in Jewish culture at the intersections of art, history, and mysticism. My poems, essays, and translations have appeared in The Kenyon Review, Poetry Ireland Review, Slate, Image, and Jewish Currents among many other publications, and been highlighted for Jewish American Heritage Month by the Academy of American Poets. I've taught at institutions including the Harvard Center for the Study of World Religions, the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education, the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow, Poland, and the Lehrhaus in Somerville, MA, and I live with my wife, Brittany, and our son, Noah Feivel, in Richmond, Virginia.

I work as the Program Manager for Yetzirah: a hearth for Jewish poetry, and I was a founding editor of Gashmius Magazine, an online journal dedicated to an accessible vision of Jewish mysticism. I'm also an organizer of Richmond Yiddish Week, Virginia's first ever festival of Yiddish language and culture. My work has been supported with a Translation Fellowship from the Yiddish Book Center, and and fellowships and scholarships from Harvard Divinity School, the Glen Workshop, the Community of Writers, and elsewhere. 

My debut poetry collection, Notes Toward a Psalm, was a finalist for many honors, including the Four Way Books Levis Prize, and is forthcoming from Slant Books.
