Danny Kraft is a writer, translator, editor, and educator, with particular interests in modern Yiddish poetry, and in Jewish culture at the intersections of art, history, and mysticism. His poems, essays, and translations have appeared in The Kenyon Review, Poetry Ireland Review, Slate, Image, and Jewish Currents among many other publications, and been highlighted for Jewish American Heritage Month by the Academy of American Poets. 

A popular and in-demand educator, he's taught at institutions including the Harvard Center for the Study of World Religions, the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education, the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow, Poland, the Lehrhaus in Somerville, MA, and the UnYeshiva. He is a founder and the education director of Richmond Yiddish Week, Virginia's first ever festival of Yiddish language and culture.

His work has been supported with a Translation Fellowship from the Yiddish Book Center, and fellowships and scholarships from Harvard Divinity School, the Glen Workshop, the Community of Writers, and elsewhere. Danny is also a member of the American Literary Translators Association and the National Book Critics Circle. His debut poetry collection was a finalist for many honors, including the Four Way Books Levis Prize, and is forthcoming in February 2027 from Slant Books.
